Nicole Richie, why you so perfect?
April 12th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
It’s no secret that I love everything Nicole Richie. What’s not to like? She’s gorgeous, has impecible style, and just happens to be an amazingly talented designer. Duh, you know this - BUT the Winter Kate fall 2012 lookbook just dropped…I’m having trouble catching my breath here. It’s perfection. Perfection in the, I could see myself wearing all of these things everyday kind of way. In like a, yes, I can find a reason to wear a floor length white maxi gown to work way. I don’t like to pick favorites, but the geometric patterned cobalt blue and olive green dress is to die.
I don’t think I can make it until fall…

Urban hat, Trouve blouse, vintage fur jacket, Paige denim, Ash boots, Topshop purse & Liberty of London silk scarf.
The weather has been so bipolar recently, and it’s made me realize – I only have so much time left to wear this jacket I picked up for $23 at the Alameda flea market. Like the weather, my feelings about the jacket are pretty bipolar but I won’t divulge into that here. This outfit is comprised of pretty much all the basic pieces I’ve been wearing non-stop throughout the past two seasons. The Liberty’s scarf is an Ebay score that I absolutely adore. If I could, I’d dress head to toe in their prints. Head to toe!
Side note: the flowers look so beautiful after it rains! Spring is on its way people, and I can’t wait.

I love outfits that are able to show immense creativity and character without being too overdone. I’m such a sucker for wonderfully tailored pieces that can be integrated with almost anything and worn during multiple seasons. I’m obsessed with how effortlessly sleek and on trend all of these women are.

H&M sweater, Zara skirt, Zara shoes, vintage necklace, & RayBan sunglasses.
Oh, hey – it’s me. Just swinging on random poles and putting leaves in my nose. Just kidding. It wasn’t in my nose, just on it. There’s only so much you can do in the wilderness in a pair of stilettos.
I got this sweater from H&M last month – in two sizes – and can’t stop wearing it. I love how versatile it is; the perfect winter-to-spring garment. The skirt I’ve been dying to wear out because a. it is not a neutral color, b. the color goes so well with my Zara heels and c. it reminds me that spring is on it’s way! Apparently it’s suppose to rain tomorrow, but I can’t help but envision summer…

Ok, so maybe this was a little bit of a food overload, but San Francisco does food really, really well and I happen to love that. My friends and I trounced around the city while eating anything in sight that looked either pretty, sweet, savory, or expensive – it was perfect. There were also bottomless mimosas and wine involved.
Despite this wonderfully sunny day, my all black ensemble conveys the period of mourning I have just entered – also known as, my quarter life crisis. Excuse me while I freak out.
Equipment blouse, paige jeans, zara sandals, hoh ring, M.A.C. russian red lipstick.

Somehow NYFW came and went sans my presence again this year. I don’t know how they managed to do it, but I can say that from here, it looked really, really good. I actually tend to be much more interested in seeing what people on the streets wear during fashion week, as opposed to what shows up on the runways. Primarily because it’s easier for me to connect with things I want to wear in this instant, rather than to try and predict what I’m going to want to wear next year. As usual, Vogue’s photographers captured some of the most incredible pictures from fashion week, so I thought I’d share.

About a week ago, while I was driving home from work, I made the most expensive mistake of my life excluding that time when I was 17 and initated a 3 car pile up. I, accidentally, ran a red light.
I got the ticket in the mail a few days ago and it’s for $500 – FIVEHUNDREDDOLLARS! It’s remarkable how much more significantly unreasonable that sum seems when I’m not on net-a-porter eyeing the newest pair of Alexander Wang shoes. Just to add insult to injury, I’ve decided to compile a list of the things I could have bought with that $500.
1. Acne ‘Shining Crepe’ shirt $250
2. The Dannijo ‘Sinatra’ bib $318
3. Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Hot Dot’ silk blouse $230
4. Ralph Lauren Collection ‘Alannah’ suede sandals $495
5. See by Chloe ‘April’ leather duffle bag $495
6. rag & bone ‘Racine printed silk wide-leg pants’ $475
7. Haute Hippie ‘Racer-back zigzag knitted maxi dress’ $375
8. Alexander Wang ‘Cropped wool-blend jacquard sweater’ $385
9. Chloe ‘Color-block leather envelope clutch’ $450
Do you take credit?

It’s hard to wear a dress this revealing and not look trashy – especially when you style it with Courtney Love hair. But leave it to Rihanna to show up to the Grammy’s half naked and still remain completely elegant. Giorgio Armani does a body good!
On another note: I wish I could be even half as brave as Rihanna is with her hair. Having an on hand hairstylist and an endless budget for constant upkeep might give her a slight advantage though. Who was your favorite from the Grammys? Hmm..
I think I want bangs.

So far this winter I haven’t worn a coat at all, but I’m becoming very drawn to the idea of getting my hands on a camel colored one before the cold months end.
I love how camel reads as so much lighter than black and still goes with everything. I’m sure it will come in hand eventually…
